Regular Mug Waterfall
A black stoneware mug available in a choice of colours inspired by the landscape and geology of Snowdonia in Wales.
Each mug is handmade in my studio. Once the handle has been attached the mug is allowed to dry before it has it’s first bisque firing. After glazing, the black stoneware clay is fired to 1230 degrees Celsius so that it is waterproof and food safe even without glaze.
Each mug is finished with a window of intense curtain of coloured glaze on the outside.
The colours are the result of the layering of different glazes which interact to create an intense gloss contrast to the tactile matt black clay.
The inside of the mug is finished with a clear glaze.
This Regular size mug holds about 260ml
Approx 9.5cm diam x 7.5cm tall.
Dishwasher proof and microwave proof but to preserve the quality and look of your handmade items I would recommend limiting dishwashing to occasional use
Can be used to reheat for short periods in the microwave but dark items become hot very quickly in a microwave so please take care when handling.
