Gifted 18 at the National Centre for Craft and Design

My last ‘gig’ of the year with Naked Clay Ceramics will be at Gifted 18 at NCCD in Sleaford, Lincs. I’m still hoping to debut some of the small size black stoneware bowls I’ve been working on. There will definitely been some porcelain wildflower vase sets gathered on a small plate. I’ve decided to do some as a little collection as so many people seem to like buying them in sets. They works as a nice present, practical but also nice as a little collection to have in a small space.

It promises to be a nice day out, with a food market in addition to the makers market. There are also 3 glass exhibitions in the galleries inside. Pop in and say ‘hello’ if you’re in the area.

Sleaford is a nice little town. I should know, my parents lived in a village 2 miles from the town for 20 years. I’ve seen it grow over the years from a neglected little ditch and a derelict seed warehouse to the beautiful bustling little town it is now.

I even remember my first visit to the Cinema down the High Street (no longer in use). We bought some sweets, sat on the folding chairs and then heard the sound of footsteps as the man who sold us the sweets went upstairs to the projection room to start the film. Halfway through when the reel ran out, he popped back upstairs to change it!
